I'll be helping a good friend to put up a daw with a laptop, what should I get her? Something not too expensive with good performance. I'm considering purchasing here: www.tigerdirect.ca
Any advice is welcome!

which laptop for a daw?
Re: which laptop for a daw?
These are really good.Scott has a kickass support and they test it with your interface/software combo before they send it to you. They preinstall everything so its unpack plug in dongles and interface and play.

Thanks for the suggestion, but at 1300+$ I think it will be way too expensive for the budget...
Any other ideas?

Alienware or Sager's are good. Love my Alienware. But tend to be expensive (and usually are).

Hi eliam,
I'm no expert on laptops, but I think I'd want a few main things for a laptop DAW :- Large HD, 4 gig DDR2 & a 17" screen. Intel might be best, but if I got those 3 main things I'd be perfectly happy with an AMD system to keep the cost down.
That's all the advise I have.
