I recently upgraded my good 'ol P3@700/CUSL-2 to an XP2000+/A7V133-C.
Got problems with PCI overflow...
Then I read all about the VIA problems, and here I am.
My main tools are Pulsar2 and digi001/PTLE.
My choice of tools means that I rely on both PCI throughput and CPU. My old setup provided sufficient PCI and my new setup provides sufficient CPU.

Haven't read any news about how MB's with the nVidia chipset performs the last month. Should I give any of them a chance (so I can keep my XP2000+)?
Or is a P4 setup the way to go?

Thanks,

Lars

Life is good...

The PCI Latency Patch was my solution
(http://download.viahardware.com/vlatency_v019.zip)
I also installed the latest via-4-1 (4.38).

Now I can run PTLE in parallell with pulsar running 3MV, sample player and poison with 4 voices.
I also tried to see how many MV I could load. I ran out of DSP at 9 (pulsar2). So far no PCI overflow message.

I might add that Pulsar is located in slot 5 with IRQ9 and my digi001 is in slot 3 with IRQ10.
