Sneak preview: A16 Ultra
We'd like to disclose a well-kept secret here: there will soon be a new generation of our successful A16 converter unit available! The A16 Ultra combines the features which made its predecessor so popular with today's cutting-edge technical specs. Some highlights:
- High-quality 24-bit / 96 kHz AD/DA converters
- 16 inputs and 16 outputs, balanced analog TRS
- 2 ADAT interfaces
- S/Mux for ADAT conversion at 96 kHz (8-channels)
- Z-Link interface (16 channels at 24-bit / 96 kHz)
- Wordclock I/O
- Very compact: single rack space 19" unit
- Highly competitive price
Its high number of channels with pristine audio quality make the A16 Ultra the ideal converter for all I/O cards, digital mixers and instruments with an ADAT interface. In combination with a CreamWare DSP Hardware with Z-Link I/O, you are even able to transfer all 16 channels at 24-bit / 96 kHz at the same time.
The price of the A16 Ultra is scheduled to be around 1,200 Euro. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!
Uhhhh.....
Creamware A16 Ultra!
There hasn't been anything on the Creamware website about the A8/A16 units in years but back in the ol' days I remember many positive comments about the sound quality of these units. I have actually heard some arrangements recorded through an A16 (older model) and can attest that they did indeed sound wonderful. I suppose a good thing just got better.
The only negative comment I can even vaguely remember is that the old units tended to run a bit hot - although please bear in mind - this is just a vague recollection from past forum postings over 2 years ago.

And, finally officially on the Creamware website!
