PolyFilter

Post by yayajohn »

PolyFilter module doesn't seem to work in the ModIV shell. (32bitPCI and 64bit Xite)
Can't access the pull down menu to select the filter type
Works in the ModII and ModIII shells.

Sorry if this is old news but a search didn't come up with anything on this.

Did you try to change filter with up/down arrow after clicking on the menu ?

I know that with BCmodular shells, you can only see the menu when you bring it close to the bottom edge of the shell in order to have the menu going outside, upon the shell edge.
Have a look here : http://forum.bcmodular.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=323

Aw crud! You're right JoPo. It actually does work correctly in a stock ModIV shell. I've been using the BC shells so much i forgot. Thanks for the workaround I'm glad I can still use it in the BC

Have you tried assigning a fader to it?
BCF 2000 was great for editing and programming Modular.
Hence BCM.

Phasers are my favorite effect. Always striving to attain that ultimate 70's swirl. Tried all of the modular phasers and I think I like the stock PolyFilter the best........for now :)

Very good idea to blend phaser & pitchshifter into a delay !
Gonna try this right away... :)

+1

The 70's phaser on string ensemble synths is definitely my favorite synth sound of all time, although my favorite use of it was actually in the 80's with the New Wave bands like The Cure. Right now my music PC is disassembled waiting for parts (and some time to finish the project) but I can't wait to try this patch out. Thanks for sharing it.

Come Sail Away by Styx has an instrumental bridge where a String Ensemble is phased beautifully.

Yuze guys would love u-He Satin tape flange.
Take a pair of ASIO Destination sends right into Satin.
Send ASIO Source pair back into Scope.

I suggest Prowave or Prodyssey saw wave presets.
Tried making this in Scope but only SDK Guys could maybe design one.

Easy answer, Satin.

yes that's exactly the type of sound i'm looking for. Other examples in Kansas PONR on the song "Portrait(He Knew) keyboard intro. JLP Cosmic Messenger too.
As mentioned here, I think JLP used a Mutron Biphase so I'm wondering if other bands used the same or if there were others or was it onboard effects for a particular keyboard.
Seems to be centered around the same time era. There's definitely two cycles that crossfade (maybe more?)

u-He looks interesting but with the Xite, I really can't justify spending money on vst effects.

I'll keep plugging away at this and who knows maybe I will land on something by mistake :D

Hope your summer is going well JV

Added some panning and modified it a bit to include internal mixers on an 8 input mod shell

Wow that sounds really nice! I like your chord progressions too. Even though its old, Scope sounds so rich and full. I've been listening to sound samples on soundcloud of some recent new plugins from Ableton, Kontact Komplete, and UVI Falcon since they've been talked about a lot in the Off Topic section here. I have to say, nothing has really moved me very much. Sure those programs can make interesting sounds and those sample libraries seem so endless. But I don't really need orchestral or all those naturalistic libraries. What I really like is analog synthesizers and none of those VST plugins have that warm sound and NONE have any low end strength like Scope synths. Sure many of them get loud sounding, but they don't seem to have real bass. I can't wait to try this patch out. Thanks for sharing it.

:) thanks for trying it. Every once in a while I stumble onto a sound in Scope that is so rich and full. It reminds me of albums created in the 70's from equipment I never even dreamed of owning.
