I need help on Frankemstein ARP 2600 Sounds

Post by dawman »

Got the filtered wah-wah and Pulse/Square leads down, but the4 sustained/descending repeating LFO pitch patch is befundled me, anyone know the trick for it...?
It's at the end of the tune.
Sounds like descending repeating 1/8 notes.

Here´s a live vid ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1mV_5-bRPo
Watch from 6:45,- Edgar tweaks knobs live,- I think filter cutoff, resonance, LFO modulation amount basicly.

Possibly all doable in Prodyssey too.

Years back I created this ARP 2600 patch for the NMG2.
I also re-patched the ARP 2600 Patchbook for the NMG2.
When I was 16 years old, the ARP 2600 was my second synth.

Here a picture where I'm enplaning the ARP 2600 in the Haags Gemeente Museum:

The Book is a good read for understanding signal flows.

Thanks guys, I finally nailed it after going through 5 ROM Banks on the SE-1X and tweaking the one that was closest.
For me learning the solos and licks are a piece of cake, it's the sounds of the 3 Oscillator Modular ARP that are the hard part.

The sound has no Oscillators active as far as generating pitch or waveform, and the descending effect is a classic.

And yes Bud, after the descending part I have to tweak the Frequency Cutoff Manually to get the post descending sounds and the SE-1X is really a close emu of a 2600 with the 3 Osc design and multi sync functions.

Sad that after all of the hard programming and learning those licks, my bandmates are most impressed with the WW2 era Benny Goodman Reed section sounds that are in CHHorns II.
To be expected from guys playing one note at a time all night or singing.
