which version of modular 4 for x64?
which version of modular 4 for x64?
I downloaded modular4 from here
ftp://sonic-core.net/software/scope5/
but it will not let me install it
"requires x86 platform" or somesuch nonsense.
is there a version which will install on x64 bit?

Jeez, they really need to tidy up the house a little better.
Here's what I did.
I just put the new Mod IV modules into the same old Modules folder, then in Devices add the Modular IV Folder.
Use an empty patch and load the new MVC C and few more modules, if you get no sound, just reboot as if you were installing a sys. file.
Hopefully things haven;t changed, as I also had the exe. but it;s not even needed.
The Additionals Folder should be the dll. that you would use in your DAW, and other Scope dll's.
Tell me I'm right and maybe we can get these guys to put in a little instruction pdf.
Let me know if the trick still works or not...
Ciao

Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
Worked for me - thanks! still no solaris or proddysey, but most things I've tried working ok under 5.1 on win7 64bit
Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
ok now it works, its just that the modular 4 interface menus have all the modular3 oscs and etc in them, and the mod4 stuff is at the top of the scope interface, it still works fine, but how can i see all the available modules in the mod4 interface?

Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
Move the modules into the SCOPE/Modular Modules (or similar) folder. You should also rearrange them into folders as you see fit, and those folders will appear and work fine (Just like you can organize devices into folders...I have third party modules in a separate folder, such as CWModular stuff). Makes things easier for me when an update to SCOPE comes along, or I do a reinstall.
Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
my XITE folder has "modular2" and "modular3" folders, so i put the mod 4 ones in "modular4"
mod4 is "seeing" the modular3 folder.
are you saying i should just merge the mod4 and mod3 folders? i notice that i dont have any mod4 stuff with any same names as mod 3 stuff. so it ought to be ok.

Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
Yeah But Modular IV having its old folder allows you to start your new patches using the new shell and and then grabbing old modules as you go along....

Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
Only thing you would need is a password to the ftp, as it is separate from the public ftp.
(ftp://sonic-core.net vs ftp://scopebeta@sonic-core.net/ )
(ftp://sonic-core.net vs ftp://scopebeta@sonic-core.net/ )
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
The username and password are both the same.
I'd be happy to share them but I am not sure if they are top secret and will cause the Merkle Government to toplle if given.
Is it OK....?
I'd love to help.

Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
I would like to get some help on this. I put the modules in the right directory, but when I add a module (for example an oscillator) nothing shows up in Modular IV.dawman wrote:The username and password are both the same.

Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
If they are in the right directory, then you just need to restart Modular.
Re: which version of modular 4 for x64?
I put all the modules where the other ones were for the modular II and III. I can load Modular IV fine, but nothing happens when I add a module!jksuperstar wrote:If they are in the right directory, then you just need to restart Modular.

I didn't realize that you have to drag the modules in...
Thanks!
