ModuClones
Re: ModuClones
excellent find...
not only does he copy the surface but also features the 'just in time' compile paradigm of Scope.
(which is nothing revolutionary anyway, Nord probably does the same and I use such a system myself all the time, tho in a different domain)
but it's a nice little synth and can do one or the other cool sound - and it IS well programmed.
What's more important in this context is the quality of the output.
Simply put... it's math not music.
It does exactly 1 sound, throughout whatever you connect.
Of course you can filter that sound and vary it's spectral content, but it lacks substance and character - all those nuances we love so much in Scope.
Imho this Modular plays in the top range of native programming, a valid opponent so to say...
It's a perfect proof that DSP coding isn't just about processing resources, but much more about the 'how-to' of (character) sound generation.
cheers, Tom

Re: ModuClones
Well looks like you can 'S' bend the cables, you can't do that on Scope Modular AFAIK

oooo.... it has rack rails with screw holes

Re: ModuClones
Its only got 3 colors for the cables, well thats the deal breaker for me coz the Scope one has 5
Re: ModuClones
Hey anything that makes folks actually understand how to create in Modular fashion is fine by me.
The rails are cool too.
Thanks Comrade Mike...

Re: ModuClones
sounds great, just found it
Re: ModuClones
i can make tables up for this and they sound great but cant use my trans waves as the fft does not go down to 256 samples
but the tables sound best by putting 16 wave samples endtoend and setting each of the 16 slots to the correct fft size ive been using 2048 single cycle samples if anyone wants any to have a go with this instrument then hola now if only scope could have a module like that
