cwm patch listings

Post by roy thinnes »

around 700 patches, listed in 21 categories.
jpgs, short descriptions, informations about author and mod version, additional notes, direct planetZ/Adern and download links.
and, for me the most important part:
short audio clips of all patches (zipped).

have fun!

p.s. Ben Walker will (very) soon open his patch archive, with even more patches...watch out!

Thanks!

Haven't looked yet, but how many of these are built in ModIV?
I already have a ton of ModIII / Flexor presets.

I've been out of the loop, and I don't even know if anyone won the so-called preset prize last year

Nice and usefull Works.

Your site brings some more value to the SC Modular synth.

You would deserve a free Modular IV from SC ...

Or some official & serious patches for MODIV from S|C... it's a shame that it comes with so few usable examples :o\

not much so far - time to make some by yourself ynd publish them on Z, xite.org or adern.com!
hey, seriously - it really doesn't matter what mod version is used, imho it's just the sound that counts.

obviously there wasn't much response, so SC decided to pass it over tacitly.

er, no. I never would provide zipped patches of other authors.
the purpose of these listings and their corresponding audio clips is this:
in case you need this special sound or sound effect for a track, listen to the (categorized) clips, pick up the patch which you think fits, download it and use it.
or, after checking some clips, get inspired by the sound of a patch, and start making something new from scratch.
I think it doesn't make sense collecting a huge amount ot patches, forget which one is usable, and get sick of this mess.
You would deserve a free Modular IV from SC ...
thanks Hurolura, as I've already got one, better: a Scope5 sdk!

I suppose it depends on why ModIV is sold and bought. Possibly its just for people who want to make thier own patches, but its equally possible that musicians might buy it mainly for presets. For example, Im not sure I would have bought a DX7 if it didnt have presets, even though I ended up programming some sounds myself.

Now given ModIV didn't come with any presets off the shelf, and you cant easily load in presets from older Modular versions (without rebuilding them, which is my experience - correct me if I'm wrong) it does beg the question of why anyone would buy it unless they were going to 100% roll thier own.

So to me, the concept of a ModIV library would act as a marketing tool, another reason for musicians (who would rather tweak or just use a library than build it from scratch) to buy it in the first place..

OMG........ :o
These are going to be fun dissecting.
RoyT has the most unique way of creating patches, especially his Sync'd Oscillator options with switches, etc.
The Mod IV patches must have taken hours as no explanation of the Modules existed at that time.

RoyT you da Man.
Thanks so much for years of experience and skill all in a single download.

If anyone finds am especially fierce patch, please post it here.
Since there are so many sharing info seems logical for those in a hurry to scream.

Peace Brotha' Men...
