We have a big problem with the modular

Post by modularman »

my name is modularman I bought my first Creamware card there are now over 10 years and I am a big fan of modular systems.
I've mod 1, 2,3 (test 4) more Flexor 1.5 and 3 and of course all the modules of Roy and scharc .........

I read the forums for a long time but I did not participate because my English is very poor

Well done to the presentations .......

:x we have a big problem with the modular .... if you Waveshaping an oscillator even a Sonic Core oscillator (Band Limited) the result is always NBL (No Band Limited)

The signal is full aliasing because the waveshaping never BL

We need a module that calculates the frequency range of Niquyst (The samplerate / 2) to preserve signal integrity

This module can be just automatic or manual

But it is essential to serious work, when we code a VST is the first thing you should do ......... and that is impossible with our platform

It is a shame that Sonic Core we do not provide it.

Please SERIOUS Developer, make it for the community ............... Amen.

thank you Astroman for your reply
flexor 3 does not work as I'd like
Flexor work properly only with Saw raw oscillator and a signal at 375Hz for 48000kHz that we must resample to the working frequency (for the 128 sample...).
If you want to work with an audio input, it must first transform it to a Saw raw signal this is not always easy without Schmitt trigger (for a guitar for example).

A samplerate/2 module will be more confortable ...... No :D

You can already manually adjust the samplerate of signals in modular from 0 - 48,000Hz. Is that not good enough?

Hi Shroomz~>, thank for your coment ......

But how can i make that ????? :o

without using drastic LP filter ?????
It's hard to be an eternal dummie :)
thank for your answer

Hi modularman,

I'm not using modular very much at the moment, but I remember this from a year or two ago. The decimator effect in modular allows you to switch off the bit reduction section of the effect & just use the variable samplerate frequency section. I'd guess that the bit chop module inside the decimator isn't removed from DSP though, so using the decimator effect is a sort of costly workaround. I have a strange feeling that this has been covered before and that I released a module which does exactly what the samplerate reduction section of the decimator effect does, but can't remember for sure. Maybe someone else here knows where it is?

Try the decimator effect anyway & if you think it's going to work for you I'll make a modular module when I have time (assuming that we don't find one that I made previously in the meantime)

Cheers!

thank you Shroomz~> for your reply
but this module does not function as a downsamplerate.

Decimator "just do" one-bit quantization and no frequency adjustment
Freq setting just do a "fine" bit quantization of the input signal
like making a staircase with the input signal

If you have the time to make a module 1 million thank you in advance

:D :D :D :D
