The low down on Esync

Post by grappa »

OK - I've begun my Modular journey in earnest and am getting on OK so far.

Working through Roy's mono patch I've got everything covered except I don't really understand what Esync does. I've read the docs and appreciate that it feeds Env status back to the MVC but what does this actually mean in practical terms?

Gates had me going for a while but SOS Synth Secrets sorted me out on that front :)

Onwards and upwards!

just test it yourself by disconnecting the [env->MVC] esync cable and short-circuit MVC gate->MVC esync
in a poly patch with some EG release, you’ll hear that everytime you play a note, the note you played before will be muted.
some additional esync info here

er - in mono patches, you don’t need esync connections (except the short-circuit MVC gate<->esync mentioned before)
use the poly tutorial patch for testing it

Thanks for the heads up Roy - starting to make sense after reading and having a play.
