I can get this for cheap.
I'm an experienced eBay-r.
3 minutes before bid ends bet higher than the pawn shop employee.
They will re bid but you must not bid again.
Then the employee has to buy the item, which they never do.
It then goes to the next highest bidder you.
If you do not get a notice about 2nd chance bid.
Complain to eBay that an employee or friend of seller was involved in jacking up the bid.
I got my first A16 for 600 bucks back in 2008 that way.

This is crazy to be listing an Xite this cheap. I'm wondering what new type of hybrid plant they're growing out there in the Rockies these days.

Yeah, it seems to me to be a pawn shop that has no idea about this thing. Good deal ;)

Yeah, I'll also have to let this one go due to shipping to EU, but some interesting info from dawman,
long time fleabay user, but didn't know there is actual solution apart "well if your buddy bids more, good luck mate, I'll better find this somewhere else".
So thanks for some good info, didn't see too many of those, but definitely had some similar cases mentioned.

They were scamming people.
Got the bid up to 760 USD.
I was going to test my theory but item was removed just minutes before time was up.

Typical pawn shop action.
These guys are a waste of time.
I'll complain to eBay though as this gives their reputation a demerit.

The price jumped up in the last second to US $1,527.00 (from $760 an hour before, then 1200, 1350, 1400 within 10s). Amazing.
One bidder o***j was hiking the price from $750 to $1300 by himself.

Modus Operandi for these scum bags.

They would take a new Fender Strat, take out the free guitar strap, sell it for 20.
And when Flooring people (dealer reps) come around to check out the fronted gear, charge no money as the Guitar is still there.

Trust me, I lived in Vegas for 30 years, I can smell a booking agent and a pawn shop ebay goatfuck a mile away...

But what is the objective of this MO? The last bidder wouldn't buy, so they have to keep the thing, or what else?

My guess is they're experienced dirtbags.
Obviously know how far to bend the "fake" bidding process.
They cannot back out of a 2nd chance offer without violating rules and jeopardizing ratings.
If somebody were to have entered a maximum bid, one time offer, and then their fake bidder bypassed that bid, they would actually have to buy the unit and reimburse themselves or sell the unit for some smart guy that bid once for 800 and stopped.

I didn't follow the process.
But it seems you did.
Did the fake bidder give you any impressions?
I would take down all names next time they try and sell it.
Check their history and maybe bust them.
They make good money obviously so eBay would tend to favor sellers paying commissions monthly.
But recent rules for musical instruments have 3.5% charge levied.
Was 10%.
Reverb.com makes them compete.
AMD does this to Int€£.
We might see this again.
Think I'm going to record the events and try and call their bluff.

Obviously the bidder o***j started with 1200 within 20s of the ending then immediately raised the bid 7 times until 4s before ending to $1400. Then someone else raised the bid to $1527 and won in the last second.

Well if it's a legit sale then I guess we would expect to eventually see the winner here at some point and hopefully they will see this thread and respond. Gary will certainly be hearing from him.

Indeed, they didn't mention anything about software, etc... So would imagine they will come by around.
Or similar story like dawman is saying, worth tracking this down, in case it didn't reach legit buyer.

Strange I didn't see the final bid.
On my iPad I watched the sale end with minutes left.
Could have been the WiFi at the gym.

If that's the case it's a very lucky winner.
