CW Hammond need help understanding playing technique

Does the hammond have two FULL keyboard layers and if so why? And how does this tie in with the bass pedals? Problem is I'm looking at playing the instrument from a Keyboard/piano perspective ie righthand- above mid c and lefthand below mid c (bass) with pedals for dampening and sustain. There seems to be alot of technical info like schematics on leslie's and b3's but no info on actual playing technique.

most organs have at least 2 full keyboards(for lead and harmony) as well as bass pedals. you can split the keyboard or use two keyboards or just use one .

Haven't read through them yet though. What I don't understand at this point is why have a full range twice surely there would be some overlap and if not then there would be inaudable notes ,at least to the human ear, on both manuals. Anyway maybe the links above will explain.

The two manuals can be set for different sounds, and yes, often they share parts of the same range, but this is not a problem, that's the concept. You can set the B2003 to receive from different channels or from different keyzones on the same channel.

I gues the sound if it by nature doesn't fits dance at best, club music ('house') used the Vintage Keys often for a lot of (great) organ sounds, but that's history I'm afraid.
More abstract styles like techno, DnB etc. seem to avoid it.
