Scope as admin ?

Post by JoPo »

I'd like to know if it's still essential to run Scope as admin and ... Why ? (I can't remember why... :D )
Because to run as admin can also generate gentle boring issues.

So, today, I decided to run as non admin ! I like dangerous life. I'm a hothead, I'm not scared of anything.

Thanks !

Scope 7 always runs "as administrator".
v5 needs to be run that way.

the reason is that beginning in Vista/win7, Windows blocks apps from accessing system resources like ram, unless running "as admin". some Scope plugins require this access.

Thanks !
So, it's not necessary to run v7 as admin..? It seems to work flawlessly and drag-drop from windows explorer is less painful.

I also stopped to run cubase as admin but not for long time... I remember why it should be runned as admin : jbridge plugins have a white gui if not !

v7 already ALWAYS runs as admin. there is no need to do anything special. that is why v7 brings up the message box about "do you want to let this app make changes to your system" when it starts. you do not need to set it to run as admin in the shortcut.
