What additional plugins are your favourites ?

Post by nebelfuerst »

Although I'm scope use since the early beginning, I never managed to get an overview of commercial plugins.
Recently I tried some demos and bought Acid bundle and Xor, which I really love.

What plugins would you buy again and which probably not ?

I try to do some trance/psy, but sometimes I end up with some music in "house"-style.
I love the miniscope, saturn, TH3 Beast and Adern's Xor.
The EDS16 is used in most cases, but I fail to make it sound like the percussion of propellerhead's rebirth.
The solaris, which I tried with a demo key had no preset that blew my mind, maybe it would need editng the sounds, but I was not able to understand all buttons on my test.
Six-String sounds very clear, I like the sound, but I'm not using much guitars yet.

Are there other synths like the above, that are worth a try ?

well, not commercial anymore... but the Wavelength synths were always (and still are) among my top favourites.
Iirc Mr. Arkadin collected them in the devices download section here.
John Bowen's ProWave is also very nice.

It does more than guitars:

Like Astroman, I'm a Wavelength fan. when it comes to synths, 70% is Wavelength sparC, 20% SC Prodyssey, 10% FM4 (free), or Wavelength FreakMod if I need more bite.
I'm into heavy techno shit though. I've never gotten along with drums on Scope, somehow. That's always done inside the DAW, but you should try Blackbox CWM for the 808 side of ReBirth. I like the D16 classic bundle for the Roland stuff.

I know everybody' will laugh but I like the bluesynth. It is so easy an simple. But this depends on my style of making sounds because I like stacking sounds, and a Single Sound does not rule, only the combination. I call it combinat ;)

I combine with any other synth, the bluesynth is not eating very much Gras on the dsp and a good sounding polyphon synth. But I hate it a little bit, because a Bug makes it impossible to assign cc and after saving it succs as a demence sickness.

Most time I combine with one of my vintage hardware synthesizers like sy77 or JV1080 or emu Orbit etc.

Zarg synths like ProWave are simple and powerful (soundwise), and they can be extended by making.Modular plugins for oscillators, and include a slew of filter choices.

Prodyssey just always sounds good to me.

But dNa's effect rack makes anything sound better, and I always throw in a bass amp like Celmo's BAM or the Ampeg model after it all...amps just are the difference adding warmth and compression that rounds out the tone.

+1 on dNa plugins. They are amongs my favorite and I belive amongs the very best out here. I love the Effects-Rack and the Channel-Rack, but also MasterComp, the Mastering Equilizer, and Optimus-Prime multi-effector. I basicly love every effect and processor Ray at dNa makes and they are usually instant no-brainer buys. Some of his plugins are amongs SCOPE's finest jewels IMO. There are no plugin demo's for dNa plugins but some audio demo's do exist (while the audio demo's are ok they don't tell the whole story).

I also love Celmo's Spring-Reverberator, Tape Echo Sim and Blue-Wave synth. SpaceF's new delays are killer and Ocean Swift Synthesis PI2525 is awesome.

Wow. i just learned about devices, I never came across.
I'm currently deep into testing. Unfortunately, some devices seem to have dissappeared from the web.
Is there a place like an device archive ?

There was a thread with archived of devices...maybe it was Mr Arkadin's collections? Can't find it now..

Also, go to the Board Index (top Of this forum), scroll to the bottom of that page, and you'll see a "Devices" heading under the "Files" section. Many devices to be found there!

I just ordered Sixstring.
It took some time for me to accept that this plugin is just a perfect piece of art ;-)

Six-String is definitely special and a great plugin. Very versatile and sounds great IMO. You made a great choice buying it if you wanted a powerfull, flexible, and unique SCOPE plugin. I do believe it's the best Physical-Modelied plugin ITB and is just a really good creative tool for instruments of all sorts.

Bit O.T.,- but please explain what "ITB" means ´cause I dunno.

"in the ballpark"
"in the biz"
"in the butt"

???

Regardless of result,- I´ll buy it too soon,- just only waiting for SCOPE v7.1.

Bud,
You're close.

It means In the Box, as in the computer rather than external hardware

And OTB means the opposite, outside the box :)

LOL, In the Butt

I’m getting the new plug in from Whiny Liberal developers that’s a Delay based on days, weeks and years.
Usually 11 seconds is good for our work, but watching the defeated Liberals keep getting the boot has caused some trade secrets to be shared from the land of redistribution.
They always lie to reporters, as that’s not a crime, they deny involvement in illegal activities, and these stalling tactics usually make a statue of limitations defense valid.

It’s only 69 bucks (Hillary’s age).
They’re calling it the Lie Deny Delay.
Milliseconds
Seconds
Hours
Days
Weeks
Years
The most successful Delay ever designed...
