Pricing policy

A way of making Sonic|Core great again (beyond the opinions of an insider forum like Planetz) is by increasing the user base and by having innovative plugins made by S|C and third party developers. S|C exists in a competitive market and high quality apps and programs run native for less costs than ever. A new generation of users create on iPads and pay extremely little for powerful apps.
S|C faces the choice between pricing plugins at what is reasonable compared to what plugs have cost for the platform over the last 10-15 years, which seems to be the current price policy, or, they can lower the costs substantially and most likely sell far more units. In total, the developers may make as much money by dumping the prices, AND they will please the user community and boost the confidence in the platform. Given the very high entry price for an xite(D), it should be reasonable to sell further addons at a fairly modest price.
Key question: how many are the potential buyers out there for a new synth or fx plugin? By counting the number of downloads of the best free plugins ie. from HP digital, you may get an idea. These count on average 300 downloads. Not every user visits this forum, so the potential may be higher. But, since there is no working mailing list, little activity on the SC web site, the Planetz is probably representative for a communication channel to the major part of the user community.
Now, if the number of free downloads count 300, what number do plugins at EUR 149 sell at? My guess is max 40-50 units.
So – lower the price, sell vastly more units, and boost the user community and make the platform great again!
