MIDI sequencer / file playback

Post by DragonSF »

I'm trying to use the midi-sequencer and I can't find no way to use the sequencer to re-play the notes or to play external midi files. Any advice is welcome.

I think I got it: a DAW between seq out and seq in will do the trick. Any other means?

Do you mean the modular midi seq ? It's quite basic : it allows you to record 32 notes and play them. Have a look at modular III reference manual in which there is a page about this module.

I was playing with XITE-Beat. There is this sequencer module.

Well ... I just see sequencer midi source or dest which are midi I/O of the daw... So yes, there is the daw between them : sequencer midi source is midi tracks in cubase assigned to Xite. By default, there is 2 midi output with 16 channels each but if you load a third in your Scope project, Scope will ask you if you want a third one, fourth one ... And so on ...

And sequencer midi dest is midi data going from Scope to your daw. An example is sequencer remote that would use Scope midi --> daw (it's not in Xite-beat project ! It's a device you'll find in midi menu to remote control Cubase) or if you want Scope to control anything in your daw via midi.

In the Xite-beat project, the Xite midi input is wired to sequencer midi dest, so if your midi keyboard is plugged into Xite midi input, the keyboard midi data will go in the daw.
