Looking for methods of pitch shifting in realtime.

I spent the day playing with a friends Novation MiniNOVA, and it has an awesome vocoder, with really good presets. But it also has an autotune as either separate effect, or part of the vocoder...so no matter what you are singing into the mic, the vocoder output tracks the keys being played. That means monochromatic sounds from didjeridoos and drums as well as odd instruments like theramins and such can be played or sequenced in a polychromatic fashion.

It's like having alot of what is normally done in samplers be done in realtime as an effect.

I'd prefer a SCOPE device or modular patch to do the same thing. Any suggestions on patches, or algorithms to use? (I can patch just about anything if I know the math to use)

In BCmodular, you have a very good pitchshifter module. In CW modules too.
The problem is when you want to detect which note pitch enter in modular. I never could to achieve that. But you can use other application like the vst Mtuner which can output the midi note at its input. Or this : https://imitone.com/ : you sing in a mike and get midi notes, like a midi controler/keyboard. It works pretty well and the more expensive version, apparently, can do the same with up to 8 notes ! I have the less expensive version. I know that Melodyne can do even better.

If you want that whatever note going inside modular to output a desired note you played on your keyboard, I don't know how to do that... Maybe ask to Roy, Shark or W_ellis on BCmodular forum... If anyone would have some idea, it would be them !

oh yes, thanks for the Flexor tip, I forgot about that module. I'll see if it helps me. Much of what I want to do is monochromatic/phonic anyway, but support of poly would open up the usefulness greatly...so I dream big
