Mixbus3 Playing Thru SonicCore 5.1 on Windows 7.1 - 2 Wave

Post by jta »

I've gotten Mixbus3 32bit and Scope 3.1c to work OK - except for clicks every now and then. Now, (thanks to S|C for the year-end special and for garyb for expediting things - you guys rock!) it's time for SonicCore 5.1 and Mixbus3 x64 to co-operate.

What works: (re: x64 on W7.1) Playback from Mixbus3 on 2 channels at 16 Bit Wave on Sonic|Core
What doesn't: Everything else

The thing is, the basic sound is glorious. If you know either Sonic|Core or Mixbus3 then you already know the sound is good. And the combination? Nice. The two audio engines don't try to overpower each other - unless you want to.

Since I only figured out how to work the combination (that worked for me) last night, there are lots of questions. As of now, as I understand it, it's mainly a one-way trip: from Mixbus3 to SonicCore. And it's only two channels at 16 Bit Wave Source. You can use the 24 Bit Wave Source, but then it is only one channel. And for some reason you need two Wave Dest - unconnected. Turn down the master if you try experimentation with only one Wave Dest.

To do what I used, you need:

Jack_v1.9.10_64_setup.exe
Mixbus 3.0.2871 Intel 64-bit
Sonic Core Scope v5.1.2709-x64
Windows 7 - 1
HP Workstation xw4600 - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - DDR2 4 GBytes - NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290
M-Sword Digital [1180] v 3.4.2.0, ASIO 3.4.2.0, CPL 3.4.2.0, 2 Speakers, ASIO Buffer 5 ms
Windows Playback devices - Sonic Core Scope = Default Device

And Scope ASIO1-32 Source 64 and ASIO1-32 Dest 64 (connected to STM 2448)

As far as the M-Sword Digital [1180] being needed, probably not. But if you have one, it needs changing from 44.1 to 48k each time.

thanks for reading
