Drum Synths?

Post by zerocrossing »

Is the Zarg RD Drum the only one still sold? I see mention of T Drums, but I can't find anything about it. I'm starting to feel like I may have invested in a dead platform.

why would there be a plethora of sampled drums when native does that aspect so much better!?

the EDS drums will give you synth drum sounds for days. for sampled drums, there is Battery, Stylus RMX, Power Drums, EZ Drummer, BFD, Drummix and so many more....

I was just looking at modular and there are several drum synth modules there...

But for real stuff I have Addictive Drum Pack that came with Sonar.

For Emulation I have ADM.

Ahahahaha, a Behringer sequencer! Nice find!

I forgot why I bought it... I think I was going to control the Scope synths using it. Oh, and for the Plugiator.

I found two drum-synths at http://www.scopeportal.com. Beatz and plasma, maybe there are others too.

guys drums in modular is the way to go, you can make amazing percs with just a few modules! experiment. forget the drum modules themselves. take white noise and a filter or two and dynamic envelopes and you can make awesome stuff!

I tried playing drums once or twice. It didn't really work out. Not my type of instrument :(

But I have a buddy from high school that plays tenor sax and he also picked up playing drums for fun. He plays them almost every week at a local church. I gave him my old MIDI controller to mess around, but synths ain't his thing lol.

Zerocrossing - I find it interesting that you are spending so much energy on the stuff you have to buy extra or can't buy any more. Where are all the posts about the huge pile of plugins that came with the box or all the plugins you can download for free?

I would find it interesting to hear how you like what you've got already.
- How does the workflow agree with you?
- do you like the sounds of the stock synths?
- what about the effects?
- or do you find modular interesting?

:)

ps. I have never heard of T drums before - I have been on the platform for 14 years.

Oh, I have been busy with the included tools, which are very nice, but tbh, I have not delved too deep into the Modular stuff yet. The UI is fairly daunting on that and I'm going to need some time with Faxi's vids to sus all that out. This is more me putting a mental road map out for things I'm trying to accomplish. For instance, one of the items I used to use a lot was a plug in called Bong, but now that I went 64 bit in my DAW I'll need a replacement for it anyway as I also got rid of my Nord Drum 2 to make funds available for the XITE-1. A few things had to go to get it, and I'm just trying to find good replacements. I do also have access to native tools, but I'm trying to see if there are better options on the Scope platform.

Well, I guess the equivalent is that you have bought a new car.

It can take you from A to B no problem.

Of course it's going to feel different.

The question is, do you like how feels while you are driving?

I don't see only one !!
I did see that, but the English copy is unclear... Does it actually come with the drum modules in the demos come with it? It seems to make reference to other products I couldn't find.

Speaking of "couldn't find," I couldn't find anything on the EDS16i or 8i, except old posts about it. Do you have a link?

The link is broken ??
Here, it works perfectly ! It's the link to Adern site for downloading the free "kick me too". As it's free, I upload it here.
KickMe_Too+.zip
(774.45 KiB) Downloaded 101 times
This is a drum synth for BD with a lot of presets -> fantastico !

EDS16i or 8i are installed with Scope ! And you have manual about them in the manual section (close to the '?' of the Scope task bar).

Why don't you just download all that stuff & try it ?? Yes ! There is PLASMA, BEATZ, all modular stuff and so on ! A dead platform ! Are you serious ? All that stuff is new for you, is n't it ? Don't you need a lot of time to play with them ? Especialy modular ! I use Scope since 18 years and I'm still discovering new things, new way to work, new experiment ; it never ended !
Make a back up of your clean Scope install folder to be quiet & easy then EXPERIMENT !!
