scanable wavetable instrument/module with user wavetables?

A place to talk about whatever Scope music/gear related stuff you want.

scanable wavetable instrument/module with user wavetables?

Post by bluegreengold »

I know you can extract single cycle waves with vectron, but is there a module or scope instrument that allows form scanable user wavetables. Like the waldorf osc, but with custom tables. I'd really rather not have to buy a microwave to satisfy this itch.

I'm afraid it doesn't exist on the platform. Perhaps if you ask nicely at the BC-Modular forum someone could develop a modular module that could do the trick.

Or you could go with Nave: http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/nam ... dle-614277

Ok. That's what I thought, but I was just checking. I guess I'll just *have to live with* vectoring between sample oscillators in modular. We got it tough don't we. lol

But seriously - ask for a module like that over at the BCmodular forum:

Shark just created a new BCmodular module that does what you want, but no scanning.

I know there are free tools that allows the user to create scanable wave-tables, all we need is a module that can host user-created wavetables.

I'd like to see such a module as well :)

And while we are at it, I'd love to be able to adjust an interpolation knob between neighboring waves within a wavetable, in order to create smooth scans ;)

It does seem odd that nothing like this exists for the Scope platform. There are tons of native synths that have this ability.

dunno about this application specifically, but some tasks are better handled by DSPs and some are better handled natively.

I looked and looked but Gizzmo seems to have died on the vine... seemed awesome. Not sure what happened but I couldn't find many posts about it past 2009.
