Well, there aren't any signs that the Waldorf Stromberg is still in development and I don't think Clavia will ever release a Nord Modular G3. The The SCHMIDT Synthesizer is an analogue beast but I don't know if it will be available as a commercial product and it will be very expensive (20.000 euros maybe?). I also like the Radikal Technologies Accelerator, it was available at Thomann for a while but now it is gone. If I want to buy my next BIG synth there is only one option...the Solaris. I would love to hear some more wavetable\rotor\vector audio demos, I don't really care for the analogue emulation sounds but I don't mind if it does that really well also :) It would make a nice combo together with my Alesis Andromeda.

I will be making some more using Samples from jhulk, and LASS sometime next week as I have the samples I need now, and the Sampler Tool helps out.
I can actually use really old 8 bit Emulator II samples and the 96k processing actually makes them sound pretty pristine.

I just found out that the Schmidt synth is going into production and it will cost 18000 euros :o

That is a lot of money but you also get a lot of synth :)

One thing I've learned about productions of anything since 2009 has been that the Roland, Akai, Kurzweil, Korg and Yamahas want units of 1,000 before anything moves.
The Dave Smiths, Bowens, Waldorfs and Schmidt kind of guys build units in lots of 50 and 100.
It seems that pre orders can be discussed with ECM, which seems to be in the middle of everything regarding synths produced in Europe.
If you have 18,000 Euro laying around, why take a chance on missing anything..... get both.

It's fantastic to see projects like the Schmidt and the Solaris. I think the Schmidt synth it using the one-control-per-parameter principle. I wonder how large the Solaris control panel would be if it had one knob/button per parameter ;)

And maybe slightly more than 4 times
currently you can reach any of the 35 encoders to directly tweak parameters but there are almost 1000 parameters !!! :D
And it is still quite easy to use, though.

Actually, there's around 1240 parameters!

No, 22 BCR 2000 would be enough. :D
You can layout 56 encoders per BCR (ok with the 4 group trick for the upper row of 8 encoders).
Then you have to find a BIG midi merger ...

Yes, they brought one of two protos to Los Angeles last January (2012) for presentation at the NAMM show, then visited Zimmer the day after, and left it there for him. (Much easier than shipping it back to Germany, by the way!)
