Device: OS-Total-Bundle > all setup´s
Scope System (Xite/Pci, number and models of boards): XITE
Operating System: WinXP, scope 5.1
32/64 Bit: 32bit
Bug Description:

hello faxi,
please, tell me what your setup do!!
(OS-Total-Bundle > all setup´s)
it crashed my lovely stable XITE-scope 5.1 installation
...and this is every horror to deBug...

for example:
what is the difference between the two example.dsp files except time of edit?
i can´t found it, but rollback can repair it ~ sometime yes sometime not

send me a list of your sc-edits to remake this with "try and error"
and please, no more setup.exe!!
every children can install scope-stuff manually ;)
and you can see, what and where you do!
thx and ROCK ON!

ps.: pci not tested yet with old projects... but i will now get nightmares, i think back to the zarg-install ~~~

this is very odd, did you also install anything else? the dsp files you are showing are not included in our setups!!!

The only dsp files that could be affected are:
M4P5FB1.dsp, M4P1FB1.dsp, M4MLFR2.dsp, sc-mod4.dsp, MogLFR2.dsp, MogLFR2.dsp, MogLFR2.dsp

are you using projects from the PCI system in the XITE system?

if so, and if both systems are in the same machine, the files may be loading from the wrong folder. loading files from the PCI folder will make strange problems with the XITE.

ya i had that thought as well?

XITE only XITE setup with XITE projects
PCI only PCI Setup with PCI projects

except freeware and other > on both
if not expressly pointed out, but then in the extra folder except systemfiles

here, only after OS installation, this message sent when load Optimaster X, no more tested yet
then, i rollback only the dsp-file from backup, now without message.
now jump between the two files and restarts
error < > ok

see here
the same horror was with zarg

http://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33936

is there a scope-system checklist bugi?
i'm confused, the file exists but is not found
... is the error in the file "dsp.idx" ???
example scope seti code:
ÜÜÜgaTT''++ must be corrected to ÄÄÄasMM"++ ...or so?

if it's xp, then usually the problem is that the dsp file has been marked "read only" when the "can't find dsp file" message appears. windows xp does make this decision in certain circumstances.

in a later windows os, it's usually a matter of administrator mode for the application.

beyond that, i've never seen this issue, nor have i ever seen the need to debug so deeply. it's interesting that you may have had a strange event twice. i'm baffled.

ok so this issue clearly has nothing to do with OS devices, can this topic be moved to another subforum?

i'm not sure how to move just part of the thread, so please start a new thread in the problem solving forum, if the issue continues...

checked, all files were and are writable

... and the XITE probs "no more SAT connection" are normal :-?

there are as many sat connections as there are. it's decided by the chips themselves, not the XITE design. the Zarg plugins would need to be rebuilt considering those issues, but it depends on exactly how you use things. this really isn't the forum for this discussion, though.

there are only so many sat connections, period.

many things might max them. you can always mess with assignment of dsps to limit problems, but you only get what is physically possible with the processors.
