XITE-1 Hardware MIDI Out

Post by dawman »

Could someone verify the hardware MIDI Out on thier XITE-1 and see what CC's if any are being sent randomly...
My XITE-1 currently has the MIDI Out of the MX8 hardware
MIDI Patchbay going into the XITE-1's MIDI In. This merges
the KS88 and SE-1 MIDI Outs.

But I am trying to use Reaper to send CC's to the SE-1 after
editing them so I can have the SE-1 and other instruments
automated. No note on/offs, just CC's.

But I have a constant stream of CC 123 showing up in both of
Scopes' MIDI Monitors.
After tearing my hair out I cannot isolate this. CC 123 is all notes
off and its filling my MX8s' MIDI Buffer up from a constant note off.

I have never used the XITE-1's MIDI Out so I never have seen this
action before.
I am hoping this is something I can FIlter out somehow, w/o having
an effect on othe CC's.

Its not 'Active Sensing' is it ? I cant remember the code, but if you uncheck 'show active sensing' on the midi monitor and the messages go away, then look for somewhere in the MX8 or whereva to turn it off.

EDIT: Misread your post about 123 being all notes off.

I guess you tried putting the midi monitor on the KS88 and SE-1 individually ?

i can't tell where that midi signal is coming from going out the xite's midi out. maybe there's a feedback loop.

I can't quite tell if this is feasible from your complex routing, but I know that there were some changes to Reaper in relation to stuck notes. If I recall rightly, the solution was to send periodic all notes off messages.

It is from Reaper.

Options/Preferences/MIDI devices/ - on bottom page (on stop/play), deselect "reset pitch", "reset CC". and "send all note off"

Just checked my Xite hw midi out- both with the Scope 5.0 build 2619 and the Scope 5.1 build 2708.

It sends no random midi information out.

For advanced midi filtering, I use Wolf's midi tool box.

Maybe the stock "MIDI filter" could be a workaround in your case. It offers some Note Off filtering per midi channel

It is Reaper.................
When Reaper isn't involved everything works.
I proved this by using at0m's LFO 2 MIDI Modular patch.
It allows me to play the hardware analog synth in realtime ( note on/offs ) while the Modular Patch uses a slow LFO to sweep my Analog synths Cutoff Frequency in real time.....
Mod patch to XITE-1 MIDI Out only.

Then I disconnect the Modular Patch from the XITE-1 MIDI Out module, and re connect the XITE-1 MIDI Source merged w/ the Sequencer MIDI Destination module and all Hell breaks loose.

Ladies & Gentlemen.....................tjsound.................Ankyu....

A wasted night, but it ended on a great note.
Thanks Guys....
