PCI-E

Post by fraz »

Hi there,

Is the Xite PCI-E x1???

I do get confused on this as it is new technology and I'm no IT whizz..... :D .......

When I look at motherboard specs I see for example:

PCI-E 2 X 16
" " X 4
" " x 1

The graphics cards go into the X16 slots (I understand this)

Will the Xite work in all PCI-E???? - No mods needed etc......????

I do feel stupid asking but I need to know.....

Thanks in advance.......... :D

Hello again,

Below is a spec for a mainboard that I pasted in

2 x PCI (32 bit) - Pulsar 2 cards etc....
1 x PCI-E 2.0 x1
2 x PCI-E 2.0 x16 . ..graphics cards
1 x PCI-E 2.0 x4

I'm looking at replacing one of my PC's that is very old.

Just wandering how X-ite would fit into a mainboard like this and whether it goes into all of the Express slots.....

XITE-1 has a single PCI-e 1x card that gets connected to the XITE-1 unit via the HDMI cable included.

As I understand it the pcie card of Xite is pcie-x1 and can be into any of the pcie slots that support pcie-x1, which I think is any of those which you mention.
eg Xite pcie card can be inserted into pcie-x16, pcie-x8, pcie-x4, pcie-x2 and pcie-x1
I have mine plugged into the pcie 2.0 - x1 slot on my motherboard
and as pointed out by netguyjoel the pcie card connects to the Xite via a HDMI cable

That helps to know the PCI-E x1 will fit into any of the other ones like x4/x8/16

The HDMI cable IS included in the package then??? - for Xite that is.....

However, if you need a longer cable, HDMI cables are fairly easy to get hold of. You can just check your local Audo/Video store or off the internet.
