xite upgrade offer clarification

Post by eliam »

So, what's the deal exactly? It says up to 900 euros of rebate, does that include the half-price plugins? Can I trade in both a scope and a pulsar board? I find the info pretty unclear on their website... Thanks

Thanks for the offer! Wouldn't it be of general interest to spell it here?

yeah, well that takes typing....

basically, you tell the dealer you want to make the trade and pay for the XITE w/the discount. when you get the XITE, S/C sends a temporary keyfile. you then send the card to S/C to receive the permanent keyfile. an alternative allows you to disable the card with a program sent by S/C. when the confirmation from that program is sent to S/C, they send permanent keys. multiple cards are at S/C's discretion....

Ok I see, thanks for the clarification. My question was more about the actual money rebate and the possibility to trade in more than one board.

I'll write soniccore when I'm ready to get one of these babies... Hopefully soon!

what does "disable the card" exactly mean? will it be rendered completely useless or just made a dsp booster without any keys attached to it??
I mean, even a 14 dsp booster could sell fine afterwards...
(not that I had the funds to buy a xite even at special christmas conditions, but maybe this offer will be made again 2 or 3 years later, and maybe xite has lil brothers then...)

it might still work as a booster, but all keys will be erased...it WAS my understanding that the card would not work after, though.

of course the card isn't dead afterwards, the actual keys will just be invalid, that's all...
I wouldn't see any problems for a SRB, as there's usually no plugins registered to it...

cheers

an srb or xtc can still be run on it's own, since it has some basic keys at least.
if the whole key set is erased, it "might" be usable with another card that actually has some keys, but I would expect it not to be able to run standalone.
