Didn't take but a few more plugs. I should have kept going.
This is just opto number one.
6 full chips before it gagged..............a new record.................ANkyu.
Now I shall go give the FB5 an unmerciful beating and see if it acts likes Peyton Manning or Brett Favre.

Finally.............when it tells you to lower your polyphony, you know the app is running home to Mama.
Ain't no Poly on a Mixer...?
So it's talking nonsense but the fact remains no other mixer I have tested goes this far.
Do you mind if I bust Ralfs Balls about this..?
You should be the one to tell him, but someone should speak up.

I also found out that the DSP usage hits 90% on a chip and then hops over the other chips.
I would use the Big Reverbs, Matrix Delay and Flu_Liq outside the mixer, and pack this Bastard with EQ's, BB2 Filters and Dynamics.
Warps verbs use 50% of a chip, same w/ Flu_Liq and Matrix Delay.

You better pm Francis as he is going to shit when he sees this.......... :o

HATS OFF MEHDI.........

Looks awesome!

Can't wait to test it myself. I had some fully loaded projects with the mixers loaded exclusively and had a lot of problems with the constant optimizations.

This FAT BASTARD has no such issues.

This isn't perfect, but just imagine packing the inserts and using the Insert Load capabilities again.
This is by far the biggest load yet. Right up there with Modular.
If I was mehdi I would tell S|C to hand over an XITE-1 so he can hook 'em up..................ANkyu.
I will use the big dev's in the routing window and pack the inserts and see if I can gag it.
You know I was really grooving on a demo I am doing for someone, and I saw this............messed me all up.... :D

How about uploading a project?
See if I can load it. (Although I probably still don't have a lot of devices that you do.

Thanks,

Hey Jimmy
Thanks for the pics and tests.

About polyphony, in the mixer, the message could be related to a function that allowed switching the mixer off through the Livebar. May be you have the choice of polyphony appearing in the livebar ? this feature is disabled internaly, and normally should have no effect. May be there is a parameter left that makes the dev seen as a synth (?). it's possible.

Thanks again,
it begins to look good :-)

This is normal for any device that overloads the system.
Once optimized it asks to change the samplerate or lower polyphony only after the sysytem is maxxed.
This happens on anything.
Other mixers do this too.
But other mixers don't load like this..............
I am checking V82 now.
If this can be transferred to the FP106/104C's they will write songs about you.......

Once someone confirms the midi-on-insert is working, and that it reloads fine in projects or presets, i think i can go on with the V82, FP and other updates ...
FB5 is bit like the daddy of all that's why it starts with it :)
nb: it's still a "beta version" ; if used in productions, make sure to test "reloading a project" to avoid loosing effects or other settings (if something doesn't work...).

Have fun !

Well here's a Packed FATTY.
There's the before and after DSP Meter.
The Project has the B2003 and 3 x big DSP gulping FX.
The jpeg. of the DSP meter on the right is after loading the FB5-X Test 12.
_________________________________________________________________________

Lower jpeg. is the Full Monty in all it's glory.
Here's the reality of things though.
1) I loaded the Master FX, then the AUX's,.............no troubles at all.
2) I then loaded the Mono Inserts and everything was fine until the 6th Mono Channel.
This is where the opto window came. Pressed OK and moved on.
3) rgy. pop ups come once and then never re appears....Nice Boys
4) Loaded the Stereo Inserts no problemos.
However I noticed after the opto window I lost audio.
It's safe to assume this happened on the 6th Mono CHannel Insert Load. As I had audio
prior to that.
5) Main MIDI works flawlwssley on every knob, fader, and LED. Even the tape I/O's.
total recall of all presets is also flawless.
6) MIDI to Inserts works perfect now too.

Conclusion.
Insert MIDI works perfectly.
And I haven't got a clue why the audio drops out and cannot be re distibuted .
Even after I do the Samplerate click on Slave and click on Master trick to re load the DSP's.

Definately is nice to be back home again with the FAT BASTARD 5-X.... :D

if dsp optimization does not work, i wonder if saving and reloading the project, after quiting and restarting xite software, re-enables audio.
the fact that it happens on the 6th mono channel is probably just because it is hitting a limit at this point. May be less FAT inserts enabled, or a few less inserts per channels... i'm not too worried, the heart is beating and FB5 is a bit "over the limit" anyway :-)

That's really good to hear :-)

I tried that but the default mixer loads w/o any FATS so I shall try saving to a project and re loading that way.

TOTAL SUCCESS<<<<<<<<

I just saved it onto a project and even on reload it shows an already newly optimized DSP count too.
It appears as though 5 DSP chips @ 90% on each chip.......

SWEETNESS.........

Congrats.

A nights sleep was all I needed.
But even as I slept jpegs of mixers danced through my head.
