I got a glimpse of the review when I was over at Sonic Core's offices last week. The review seems quite thorough, and really great in the diagrams and screen shots they show of their test results. (It's long as well, with 5-6 pages of info!) It's too bad there's no English translation of it available - they would without a doubt get some serious recognition with this review!

Cheers,
John B.

I may be doing a review of my own (however biased it may be  ) in a few publications over this Summer.

whenever you visit them again, persuade them to either do an authorized translation theirselves or permit others to do it. they might have better connections with the mag than we have...

There seems to be a SERIOUS lack of understanding of this device by the market.

http://en.audiofanzine.com/external-aud ... -1/forums/

Here the XITE-1 is categorized as an 'External Audio Interface'

LOL !!!! So what does that make the A16 Ultra ????

Man, this is a serious problem !!!

For mine, I'd call it a Studio in a box. For marketing, I'd look at what others had done, but with the guideline that we are trying to 'group' it with other devices from other manufacturers. Not much use inventing a category that only 1 product falls into cuz then it wouldn't really be a category ( which I guess is your point as in some ways XITE is in a category of its own ? ) .

A few examples that spring to mind though would be :

WORKSTATION RACK
DSP ENGINE RACK ( or just DSP RACK )
RACKMOUNT DSP ENGINE

But 'Audio Interface' to me just doesnt cut it. Puts it in the same class as a $200 USB preamp / DA Converter.

I like all of the above.

A rack multi-use DSP workstation.

It is not only a much powerfull DSP engine but features also provide external audio interface with a studio build in the line ...
This is also one (or severall) of the most versatile and gound sounding synth alltogether with a bunch of great sounding effect with one (or severall) mixing desk.
The only few things missing in the Xite-1 to be a complete studio in a box would be a sequencer (though its place would be on the companion computer) and maybe obviously hardware controller (but then, everybody can choose what he wants to get a full setup).

When you think about it, Steinberg used the term VST ( Virtual Studio Technology ). This fits XITE-1 even more so - except Steiny already took it.

So maybe :

VIRTUAL STUDIO RACK
