Umm. Scoring #3 in the DSP audio systems category is like having the third best selling New Age Bagpipe album on iTunes. ;)

Some of the items on that list above don't cost too much but XITE-1 is a pricey item. Really large sales usually don't go to pricey high-end items. The above list may be a very good sign since XITE-1 is doing better then popular and far more affordable/less-costly solutions. But no one know for sure about XITE's success or not but S|C.

PS. A vsti developer selling $100 synthesizers need to have a very large amount of sales to compete with a smaller number of XITE's sold. Cheaper items need larger sales and have a chance at more items sold then costly products just cause they're more affordable to many people (but larger sells then high-priced items don't neccesarily mean more success if they are'nt large enough). You may think that the DSP Systems sales are'nt too great but i assure you there is VERY good reasons UA did'nt go Native and released $1400 hardware instead :) . Hardware is what they like to sell for several reasons and money being one.

Yeah, I know. The margins on the XITE-1 are considerable for both S|C and the dealers, so they don't have to sell thousands and thousands of them to stay afloat.

I just thought it was funny that people are waving around virtually meaningless statistics while hoping that S|C is doing well. I think sales will be slow and steady for them and give them the necessary money to build cost-reduced versions in the future to expand the customer base.

I hope they are doing well so we can get past the compatability mode and get a few quality XITE-1 reverbs.
But I agree the XITE-1 is going to take some time.
I am actually surprised they sold as many as they have.
Laptop and MacPro users will definately give them a nice boost when the drivers and parts become available.
I'll be taking mine to Nashville in October for a Joe Bob gig, but the only thing guys will want to see is how I am getting the B2003 to work so well.
There are very few guys using any kind of DAW for live work that I know out there.
But the town has an incredible amount of recording studios with the best gear around.
A good friend of mine was debating on buying the Grace Design monitor controller but decided to watch the owners money a little more carefully and opted for the Crane Song Avocet instead.
A damn monitor controller for a few large.......I spose they're doing just fine.

yes, you're right, but also taking into account VAT difference (15% GB declared at bottom of the page, 20% IT), the price is different!

prices without VAT would be:

2338 (GB)
2415 (IT)

:-?

also the text about saving says different percentages:

GB: You save: 509 (equals 15.92%)
IT: You save: 299 (equals 9.35%)

Am I missing something?

Good point.
Consider this forum to consist of a colorful mixture of fanboys, tech freaks, a few posers, wafflers and bloviators and some people dying from thirst for a scope renewal since 2002. This will explain most of the reactions :D
you forgot buzzkills, negativators, and pessimists :P

Whether the Thomann chart means anything or not, Xite IS on the list, it's a good product, and could use the support in this crazy marketplace.

As a fanboy/tech freak/poser (but none of those other things, dammit!), I will say that my thirst has been marvelously slaked...and good XITE sales can only keep me quenched!
