Xite's preamps

Post by Jah Servant »

Can anybody give us an idea as to the quality of the 2 preamps in xite? Can you compare them to any other pre or what sources have you recorded and how did it turn out?

What's Up My Brotha'...?
I only tried them through what I use live as that is my most familiar reference.
I use the FMR 8380's for instruments and vocals live because they are decent quality.
I hear no difference, but I know through monitors like the Blue Sky's, etc., that would be a better test. These are fine mic pres for live or recording though, and with a laptop one could have a very mobile decent live rig.

I got distracted doing other projects.

I remember one reason for the delay in Xite shipments was due to SC tweaking the preamps some more (and converters), so I'm only going to assume that they are very good.

However, I also do not have any other preamps to compare to.
