at Namm, they used a standard card with an adaptor the mated the cable to the expresscard. i'm sure that one could at LEAST do that. instead of speculating, anyone who really needed to use an expresscard could just write a friendly email and ask what's available and whether there is a workaround like the adaptor used at NAMM if the actual card is not ready yet....

they use a standard card from an oem (that's why it looks quite like mine) but they applied some modifications.
I for one would not volunteer to possibly render a new XITE unusable with an improper card just because an engineering sample might have tolerated this.

you can start with the xite hooked to pcie and go mobile when the express card is available. afair they said the host cards will be sold separately when available.
