ASB is dead, IMO.

Post by cram1960 »

While a great idea from Creamware, it seems to me that Sonic Core has no interest in this as a continuing imprint.

Too bad, but that's how it is. No more updates, no more bug fixes...no new ASB boxes. Dead.

Except for Ralf..who hands out the keys.

Cry, moan, mourn...in the end it's the same...dead (from a continuing development point of view).

I still want a used Prodyssey though.

Well.......

I think.......

If the ASB is dead,

SonicCore Should Cut their losses by Selling their Remaining ASB instruments at a bargain price...

I will pay 500 dollars for a system 1200 without support...

and since sonicCore did re manufacture a run of its ASB's... there should be a ton of them sitting.....

The 2 Asb units I have.... I am happy with..... The Organ, and the Prodyssey...

I just need the Minimax and pro12 to complete the series......

And then they might have just enough coin left to maybe try out my CS80 ASB idea...

I am only interested in the stand alone stuff... so as for the scopes and computer stuff....I am not a customer of theirs any more....

If ASBs support resurge....count me in........
If they drop in price....Im there with a smile....

I had good tech support from them..... I appreciate all that was done for me...

Yep, I agree. These devices are quite usefull to easily remote control the new NOAH Ex !!!
That's just reason why I have the system 1200 + the B4000.

By the way. Maybe we should just keep on waiting. The only question I have is whether SC has the source code of the ASB as I think they have been designed by InDSP.
So maybe it is a bit difficult for them to fix the bugs.
I think some of them have been fixed ... in the Plugiator/ASX series !!!

As soon as both Xite-1 + Plugiator would have been sold wide on the Earth, maybe those gentlemen could come to an agreement to finish and enhance the work (and maybe also to finish the Vector for NOAH Ex and fix the bugs of the NOAH).
A Multtimbral mode with a small extra hardware would also be welcome ...

OK guys, I am still dreaming.

ASBs are hard to market since they have been on several sell-outs at extremely low prices.
As Slammah wrote he received all the service that was possible at the time.
SC's main business is to finish Solaris, deliver XITE and improve Scope 5.
With limited resources you have to set priorities.
If the ASBs were really crappy units then they wouldn't have got those generally very positive reviews all over the net and mags.
People discover bugs and security holes in office- and internet software by the dozen a day.
Still everyone is using the stuff... ;) :D

cheers, Tom

I have the plugiator as well as the 2 ASB,s.....

I assure you, no correction was made for the plugiator as far as the prodyssey goes....
The error is the same in both with the envelope hang, and with the artifacts using the ringmod.......
What irkes me most is that USE audio used the polyphonic aftertouch channels for the excess control#s...
And it would have been nice since they shared the same GUI to atleast share common controller numbers....lol

too much to expect... god Forbid a ASB used as a controller for a plugiator....

I may have mentioned, I had a SC make me a customized firmware patch for my B4000 which placed the input before the vibrato scanner...so now the leslie in has been achieved....

I will keep waiting.... "If anyone is ditching their Pro 12 or Minimax, let me know......"

Yes this would have been great.
The only unit sharing (almost) the same CC number as the ASB is ... my favourite NOAH Ex !!!
This really is a shame about the Plugiator (almost a low cost NOAH) ...

I love my Minimax, but I don't think there will be any further development.

I too wish S|C would ditch the remaining stock cheaply. I really would like a Prodyssey but not for $1100usd :D

I keep considering a Plugiator , but editing via software kinda dis-inspires me.

I don't think about selling my Minimax, so waiting it is, but without any expectations.

I paid that for mine in canadian dollars when they were at par... wait.... our dollars are at par now....
so they are the same price.... luckily I got my b4000 at 600 dollars new from a store, the same price for my plugiator Bundle....good sounding units.... all of them

Dear Craig,

we have stopped producing ASBs as they are.
At the moment it´s unsure if we do any further development
regarding ASBs.

I received a response from a question to Sonic Core about the ASB future...

Dear ***** ******,

the production cost of ASBs is too high and have to be optimized.
We decided to stop production and not sure if we are building
any more device.
