In a weird turn-about (for me, anyway) I've discovered that, to get true analogue sounds, you need a genuine analogue synth - obvious I know, but I've priced this thing up and it comes in at a fraction of a second hand ARP2600, which I've based it on.

I think my emulation days are numbered!
Well, I've been at this thing for 5 weeks now... Yeah, I know it's sort of off topic, but I've been using it for the past few days, and it's WAY better than any Oddy emulator I own!

If CW had fixed the bugs, I wouldn't have been put into a situation where, to get true Odyssey sounds, I wouldn't have had to build this... but I'm glad I did!

I did seriously think about it... I may build a second and put it up on ebay, with a reserve of the actual cost of the beastie, and see what it goes for - that way, I wouldn't suffer any financial loss... It would be interesting to see if there was any interest.

It's taken about 5 weeks of work (an hour or two each night, 6/8 hours at weekends), but I can now understand why the Macbeth/Vostock et. al. costs so much... the components are cheap, but time :o

great i cannot wait to hear it. hopefully it wiil have "that" sound.

If only creamware had sorted their bugs you would not have to post alternatives. Definatly the right place to post.

OK, new website:

www.solarmaxx.co.uk

Audio samples up (only a few at the 'mo), also seem to have created a bit of a stir here:

Your work is crazy ! good job... I really love the Prodyssey for the sounds you can get with whatever is your music style...

Remember that there was many ASB releases in a short time whereas the company (then called creamware) had some money problems. I personnally find amazing they could manage to launch so many products at the "same" time... Obviously, it was not easy to cope with the day-to-day problems. and gathering software and hardware is not the easiest way : bugs, supply problems, ... and key generation :D ! Only few things to fix actually... And for the price of 2 or 3 vstis you can get a hardware myth...

You might try tossing an email at InDSP about the ASB bugs as well.

Does the prodyssey have a button you hold down so you can line up the sliders to the Matching leds of a preset without the sound jumping when the faders are touched???
I thought I saw that somewheres....
