Happy but confused - 1st post on this forum

Post by daffydub »

Hi Peeps

As you can see I'm new on this forum.
Just got my ASB Minimax today, and have 1 simple question:

How come one of the demoes on the ASB homepage, has the Minimax "arpeggiating away" when there is no arpeggiator on board????

Is it just me? Is it hidden somewhere strange in the remote software?

Of course i can use the arp in Ableton - but I honestly thought the Minimax was born to arp???

Other than that: What a great little box this is :D

Thanx a bunch!

I thought that was the case - just wanted to be absolutely sure.....
The demo is on the Creamware minimax site

http://asb.creamware.com/index.php?lang ... &product=5
and in my humble opinion it's a tiny bit misleading 8)

But again - there are other ways to ARP and the Mini is fabulous as it is :D

actually there's a lot of 'arpeggiators' out there - some intended, some just happen to be usable as such :D
I often use the sequences in a Yamaha DX200 as a 'lazy man's source of inspiration', the midi part of Energy XT is also excellent for that purpose.

cheers and welcome, Tom

Listening to that example it could easily be played by a human - yes humans can play arpeggios too. The specs would make reference to an arpeggiator if there was one.

While you're here make sure you register and download the latest software. i'm not sure of the process but i think you have to get a key from Ralf - email him on rb(at)soniccore.de and you may find you have some nice updates (no arpeggiator though).

Hi guys... thanx for all the replies... nice to see that there's a healthy sense of humor on the forum

I'm surprized none of you remarked that the Mini isn't multitimbral either
The thing is.... I got it 2nd hand - and would have bought it either way ARP or no ARP.... love the little bugger  I've allready got it ARPing out through LIVE!!!

" I'll be back" (said in american with a fat Austrian accent)

Edit: I got the Activation key from Ralf Within an hour of mailing him - and found the version 2.3 of the remote software (that's the latest revision - right?)

You meant to say "said in English with a fat Austrian accent" of course :P

Welcome aboard BTW.
