Hi,
I just got hold of a Noah EX - and I must say the thing is fantastic, can't believe
these didn't just take over the world when they had the chance

Ok - so here is my question, apologies if it has been answered before, I had a look
through the posts and there were similar questions but not exactly this.

At the moment, my Noah EX is all fine and great - everything working 100%

However... is there anyway to get at the keys for the synths on the box, so I can
save them off somewhere in case disaster strikes, allowing me to restore it ?
Creating a backup image doesn't include those keys.

I got a NOS Noah Ex, so I have all the documentation, the CD etc. - just wondered if there was an easy way for me have a definite "Disaster Recovery" image of it sat waiting on my PC

I would love a copy of the install cd Brian, to host somewhere for people to keep these lovely instruments going....
My problem is I need the keys for my Noah EX to get the Profit-5 and Prodyssey and EDSi8 plugins to work from the NRS software...

right I've been emailed the allkeys file, but I can't get it to work! Any ideas?

there aren't new keys being generated, only the keys that were always registered to your box can be sent. the Profit5 and Prodessey were optional, so you may not have those keys for that Noah. you can open the keyfile in a text editor like wordpad and look to see if those keys are included. if they aren't, there's nothing to be done.

you'll need to use the remote software. when you try to use the plugins you should get a registration dialog and then you should be able to import the keys.

hi, yep I get that, but it doesn't seem to work....it asks for a serial and key...

if your Noah is recognized, you should be able to select the serial number. then you should be able to import the key. what os are you using? you realize that you can't use a new os, right? that priduct was made by a company that has been out of business for quite some time(Creamware). you can't use windows 7 or osx beyond 10.2 or so...

I'm on Windows 7 x86 and everything else works perfectly fine, drivers everything. I have the allkeys.rgy file but when I try and import it it just gives an error. I can open the file in notepad, it describes the instruments etc. and has a long number which obviously isn't the correct one...

win7 didn't even exist when the Noah was made.

sure...but I've tried under XP still the same, actually works faster and better under Win 7.

that's fine, but you won't be able to update the registration under win7. heck, if you do manage to make it work, it's fine with me.

the remote software is NOT supposed to work in win7. yes, you should try the update in xp.

Maybe running the NOAH remote in x32 compatibility mode would be the trick.

To get everything correct, backup an image of the whole NOAH files from the settings menu.
Then uploading this backup with the flashtool utility would be the way to recover (from what I remember) but be carefull not to interrupt the process.

I did this just once years ago when I bought my second NOAH Ex used and didn't need to do so meanwhile so I do not remember the exact way of handing that. By the way having a 2nd unit is my way to have a hardware backup !!!

Yep I totally understand what you're saying...but I'm only having this small problem....and it appears that the allkeys.rgy file is incomplete or something as it doesn't work in XP either, says it can't read the file!

pm me the keyfile and i'll take a look at it.

Have PM'd you....

still no good, under xp it say can't read registry file....
