different audio driver with xtx eg. asio4all?

Post by fraz »

Is it possible to use another audio driver like asio4all with the XTC synths running?

may seem like a daft question but there is a larger latency under XTC mode isn't there?

I would try it out but I'm away from the PC at the moment with Scope on.

Thanks in advance........

I'm afraid the latency is inherent to the signal path used in XTC mode, ie. for audio: Cubase > DSP > Cubase > DSP > out. A trick to reduce latency when using multiple XTC FX on a single channel is to stack them in a Scope Multi-FX, as to prevent latency from accumulating in a channel's insert FX chain. This avoids excessive round-trips between the VST host and the DSP's...

You can use XTC mode with a different interface. There is a recent thread about this.

Check the protools thread.

There are some problems though.
