6dsp card with 14dsp card with no i/o does it work

Post by tripstation »

Has anyone tried this?
Used to have a scope pro card.
Could never get it to work in XTC mode with no i/o.
People on the forum have got the 6 DSP card working with by shorting a jumper (which one ?)
Now, if you connect a 14 DSP card to a 6 DSP card via a STDM cable.
Then short out the jumper on the 6 DSP card for using the I/O on say protools or another sound card.
Does it work?
Can someone try this please!

James

Hi thanks for the link to the other topic.
I did actually try this with my 14DSP SRB.
It does work in PT HD 8.03 cs2.
Am using it at the mo without any I/O and using the Digidesign 192 I/O for I/O.
I have noticed some timing problems with the SB404 even when synced externally to midi beat clock.
It goes out of time.
Anyone know how to solve this.
Also I have had a problem with say 4 DSP cards all at the same time (see my sig) If I disable all the DSP cards in PT except for the HD core then PT works really well.
As I enable more dsp cards ie creamware, Powercore UAD-1 I start to get playback glitches ie :-
DAE 6031 errors.
Seems OK in Say Nuendo.
Some say that this is a PCI bandwidth problems, If this is the case then how come that Nuendo doesn't have this problem?
Any ideas?
