Problem to run XTC SFP4.5

Post by cw_swede »

Have ticked XTC-mode, changed the XTC-project and closed SFP.

Start Cubase SX.
No plugs are available, did a re-scan of plugins but nothing...all plugs brown..what do I do wrong here?

Have followed several tips w/o success.

I do NOT have ASIO as ASIO-master in Cubase, I have another card that acts MASTER.
Is this the problem?

Have tried both, not working...did uninstall and re-installed whole 4.5 with drivers again,
and sfp...opened default xtc-project, re-save and tick XTC-mode, open proj as default...
nothing works.

Set things in cset such as no of boards, master-board...intBlk by default=256.

Have tried sfp opened at start of SX. can choose scope asio but plugs are brown, rescan..still brown....
new folder...rescan...brown.

If I now close SX, close sfp with all thos ticked above...restart SX nothing about running in XTC which will
be displayed when starting SX and if i choose pulsar ASIO now it says the this is not running..

strange....what to do?

I have also removed SFP5 before and run sfp 4.5 with new install, is this the problem? or do I have to install sfp 4.0 before?

For about 10seconds I tried this: http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php ... =dll+trick

and it did work!!! Damn Active sync.
Tried Minimax, great.

Now I can go one step forward and set up my own XTCProject.pro

Odd is that it does not contains much at all, just ASIO source and Dest with Merge
and DirectPlay...as I remember some years ago when tried XTC it contains a lot of
wiring, or..?

Happy for 5 minutes, tried more plugs now and gets DSP overload...even if I go back
to use Minimax...damn.

Suddenly when renamed rapi.dll SX starts is XTC and when I load minimax it says XTC-something..
but now it is the same again, nothing about xtc in SX, ASIO tells not running, load minimax plugin gets DSP overload...with 3 cards???
Running SFP it's working great....

have fiddles around in cset...
[XTC-Config]
AddHost=1
intBlkSize=256

[Host-Config]
Numboards=3
Board1=Host

also set path in Scopevst.cfg to the *.DEV
and the same but DLL in .../plugins/XTC

and now suddenly the project contains a lot of wiring...???

So, most plugins are now working...but I suddenly noticed that I can only run 1 plug,
next plug will give some kind of error and sound is hacking and SX crashes.

One plug is OK, same with mix synth and effect plug.

Whats wrong here?

Can anyone create a project-file for me?
I only need ADAT in/out to run audio and sync through to my EMU card that is ASIO in SX.
But ASIO can solve this I think?
Next is to be able to use synth & effect plugins.

Similar to this which I use now.

Strange. That is an error from the v5 driver.
Try manually installing the v4.5 driver in Device Manager.

I sometimes get it upon playback. Pretty annoying.
I've reported to S|C.

I don't really get what you are trying to do? You can only use one ASIO driver in SX at a time. You can still use XTC with the EMU driver, but not the Scope I/O.
Also, XTCproject.pro is not loaded when using the EMU driver.

Driver says:
2002-05-07
Version 1.50.10.0

It also says that it can not find any "better" than already installed by force through Device manager.

It seems to load XTCProject even if EMU is ASIO in SX. Because I can "see" the changes in SX.

I only want to run those nice synths/FX in SX. Today I route the sound out of scope through ADAT cable
to my EMU, but I can only use synths then and the FX comes in SX-plugs.

OK.

It seems plenty old then. I never encountered this error before v5 RC though.

How do you "see" these changes? What changes?

Does SX still crash if you load one plugin on track x and then one plugin on track y?

I mean if I load the project and add 2448 and leave it open I can use 2448 so it will
load that project...I think.

I have 1 part long track, copied it to another...switched midi-channel 1 and 2, load 1 xtc-plug and set to channel 1,
load another set to channel 2 and these error mess above is shown.

I mistakenly had Hyper Threading enabled on my P4 which I have now disabled. I have not encountered the ScopeDriverIoctl after this, so I am pretty sure this is caused by HT. Turn it off.

I have XTC mode working great with using Scope ASIO driver, though with quite high ULLI. I can load a lot of plug-ins, even in serial.
No such luck with using a different ASIO driver (different hardware IO) though.

My workaround now would be to use Scope ASIO and stream to MME of my Apogee MiniMe via Voxengo Recorder. It introduces a lot of latency though, so it barely works for mixing only (I don't get instant response when pulling a fader etc.).

I am pretty sure XTCproject.pro is not loaded when using different ASIO. It only exist for creating a background for XTC mode, loading the IO etc. This is already there and hardwired with other ASIO.
Neither do I think cset.ini is cared much for. Latency settings are ignored and instead the DSP follows your IOs latency. It acts like if your IO suddenly has DSP effects.

I'm will soon get up get XTC working.

I have that minor project in the picture above, load SX...
If EMU is ASIO I get that error message above when I load the 2nd plugin even with HT off in BIOS.
When I try to change to ASIO Pulsar I get DSP overload...??? With that small project???

This proj will be loaded in startup, StartProject.pro and is located in C:\Scope_4_5\App\SFPApp\

What do I do wrong here?

Puh, I have now made a totally new xtc-project and have found this trick to get it to work.

I cannot have ASIO Scope acivated when starting SX, will get DSP overflow
I run EMU ASIO at start-up, must also open 1 xtc-plugin, later change to ASIO Scope
and I can add all plugs and effects in SX by doing this way.

It worked this way yesterday, let's see if it still works this way.

That sounds f***ed up. Have you checked this one out? http://sonic-core.net/downloads/asiosco ... _patch.zip

"SCOPE v4.5 Patch for ASIO SCOPE with Cubase 4.1
and newer versions (13 kB), Released on 3th of July 2008:
This patch solves the problem of using SCOPE with Cubase 4.1
at other sample rates than 44.1 kHz."

Well, I run old SX 3 and 44.1kHz...
