SOnar 7.02 with XTC in SLAVE sync is possible?

Post by kwild »

Hi to all.
After a lot of years (since 2001) using my 3 boards into SFP environment i've
decided to try XTC mode with SONAR 7.02.
After some days of tweaks Sonar and XTC is now finally working (i've used the old Directixer 2.5 adapter coz the Cakewalk one seems that don't work!).
Well the problem now is that :
I use a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro as a pre to record voices that goes into
my Pulsar II with an S/PDIF digital connection.
I must set the SFP master clock as "SLAVE" to avoid clicks and to sync coz the Focusrite act only as a master.
I've used it for months with no problems into SFP environment (no glitchs and no clicks).
Now with XTC enabled seems that SFP act only as a master!!!!
I've try to save an XTCProject set to slave but seems that every time i open SONAR in XTC , SFP switch to MASTER!
SONAR have no clock switch (if i not go wrong Cubase have it).
There's any workaround?I need it only when i record vocals (when i turn on the Focusrite).
I need a syncplate to do that (i hope not!!)?
Thanx in advance and best regards.

Well,i can reply by mysefl....IS NOT POSSIBLE!
Really incredible...i've try Reaper and Energy XT and all works well, but Sonar cannot lock to SFP clock in XTC mode when set as SLAVE.
This is a major bug so i think that sonic core staff must contact Cakewalk's developing team to fix that problem.
I send an email to sonic core support but i got no replys......

Bought Sonar 8.01 some weeks ago and the problem remain the same!
I've try to contact sonic core in the last months to make them know the problem.
I got some vague replys and i don't know if they contact cakewalk team to make
them know for the problem.
I think that company it's totally dead and they wanna think it's still alive to take
some more money to us....
Sorry but...we spend a lot of money in all that years, and that's not the support
we need.

If Reaper and Energy XT work fine, then it's a Sonar problem, not a Scope one :D
Try to get Cakewalk guys to even admit they have a problem/bug, and if ever they do, try and get it fixed befor 3 or 4 major releases (if they ever fix it).
Cakewalks's support (like many others out there) is more than lousy, despite the fact that many people pay tons of money to them, and been doing so for ages...

Besides, with all the energy focused on getting Xite and SFP 5 out, I don't think that such an issue would be dealt as of existing software versions (again, call Cakewalk, and try to get a fix for any well known bug in SONAR 6, even one of those that are still present in SONAR 8)
