about XTC trick...

Hi all,
Using XTC trick, can only the standard XTC plugins be controlled by control surfaces (or use standard cubase automations)?

It depends if the plugins are XTC-enabled. Not all plugins declare their values for VST-automation.

Well,talking about control surfaces which give out midi notes to command sliders and transport commands, which would be the mackie control and hui for example.Tthe xtc mode ,and sfp mode both use midi control changes, you'll have to more specific I think.

The plugin developer decides whether they enable the device for XTC or not.
It has been a request for many a free SDK plugin on this forum.

It's not just a case of enabling an xtc on/off toggle or something in the sdk. The device maker must logically name every singal surface parameter which is in their devices' preset & parameter lists & do the same for every surface element module used to build the surface/s by renaming them in the sdk project explorer to correspond to the parameter names . If everything else with regards to building the device is done correctly, there's no reason why it won't run in xtc mode afaik.

You'll also have to set its unique ID, two hosts do not load plugins sharing the same UniqueID.
