SX3 + XTC mode
Hi Guys,
I have a very big problem with my xtc card. Maybe somebody can help me?
This is my setup:
-Windows XP pro(SP2)[Installed standard PC]
-Asus P4P800se mobo
-P4 3.2 Ghz processor (HT turned off)
-1024 MB memory
-200 GB HD
-2x M-Audio Delta 1010 (i use the ASIO)
-Cubase SX 3
-Some HW Synths
-A lot of pluggs
-creamware pulsar 2 (without any I/O) IRQ7 shared with a usb driver but thats no problem.
So here is the problem.
I have installed my pulsar card as it says in the manual.
I also installed my software from cd as it says in the manual. after the installation it asks me if i have any I/O's or if i want to use it in XTC mode. (use in xtc mode.)
Reboot the computer and i start cubase sx 3.
When loading cubase i also see that my xtc plugs are loading.
Seems ok
When i load 1 plug (master reverb pro) to my cubase mixer i works fine. when i load a second one my computer CPU crashes 100% and when i change the plugins to old behaviour it´s no solution i also copied the Application files from CD to my computer overwriting all... STILL NO SOLUTION...
I am going crazy...up in this MO#$%&&F$%^KR
pffff..chill
anyway...
Can anyone help me?

Hi stardust,
Masterverb pro works in XTC if it is connected to FX or Group channels (the same for optimaster).
In order to have a "stable" cubase project, you have to take into account the initialization sequence of cubase:
1 incoming and outgoing bus (with theirs FX)
2 Vsti and theirs bus
3 FX and Group bus
4 Audio and midi tracks
The instability often observed is mainly caused by having FX loaded before synth in the XTC project (seems linked to some DSP "reservation" which fail if some FXs are loaded).
One other point is to give some "ease" to XTC by interleaving Native Vsti and XTC Vsti in the VST rack (particularly with sampler which need some time to load : time used by XTC to stabilize its DSP allocation ).
If you follow these guidelines, you should not have loading failure anymore
cheers

The problem is with every FX ...if i use a single FX it works fine but when i load a second one... my computer CPU hits 100% and BAM! Crash! On 2006-05-11 11:11, stardust wrote:
masterverb pro does not work correctly in xtc mode. Usually it is screwed after reöoading the cubase project. try another effect to check if it is (only) that
You could try playing with disk:/path/to/sfp/App/IOEnabler/IO Enabler.exe ...
I don't use XTC, so I don't know much of it, but it's an idea.

Must i open a project XTC.pro in my scope before i can use Xtc in cubase?
I just dont get it anymore...
the sales man told me i could use it stand alone.
pffff...boy o boy.
I am realy fealing sick at the moment
hi Vjohnny
Must i open a project XTC.pro in my scope before i can use Xtc in cubase?
No, XTCproject.pro is the default project in XTC mode. Cubase launch XTC IF the Pulsar/Scope ASIO driver is selected
I just dont get it anymore...

Yes ... in SFP mode, but you will have to activate I/O and IO plate installed.
cheers

Hi
Me: P4C800, P4 Northwood 3,2Ghz, HT enabled, Cubase SX with XTC only at 48Khz/128 samples latency!
... but:
- I use my scope boards for input/output
- my scope boards do not share interrupt
- windows XP home SP1, ACPI enabled
cheers

Hi,
Normally, you should one PCI slot sharing irq with your video card, one sharing irq with another PCI slot (you should put your I/O audio cards in both, sharing irq each other), 1 sharing the irq with some mother board ressource, and 2 PCI slots free of irq sharing in which you should put your pulsar.
