Fat Bastard

Post by dawman »

I love the Code 8, like the new Moog One, but it has that Modal 008 sound to it, which is nice, but for that old Fat Moog or Voyetra sound this one is French, 3000 bucks less and sounds like the old Moogs more than the Moog One does.

I’ll always be broke but sacrifices must be made for Fat Bastards.
I wish I could take 1 large to the tables and just beat ‘em up for 4 more and snag this.
But that’s dangerous because the Jager is free.
Just have to save and scrap around the old fashioned way for this beast.
Listen to this beast.

Some nice sounds on that yutube - classic, but smooth

I’m waiting for a manual. It has MPE and extensive MIDI but the Moog One has so many killer unique modulations they haven’t added Total MIDI yet.
My Code 8 sits right in between these 2 actually.
It comes with the worst presets imaginable.
But on the bright side it’s up to you to make it work how you want.

Exciting times for Fat Bastards.

I love the kind of advanced customizability that Code 8 comes with, but I don't think I'd be able to come up with anything useful on my own. Do people post online various custom presets and all that jazz?

They’ve got thousands of presets.
Comes with 4 Banks of presets.
I still tweak those or make my own.

And those extra Filters are great.
The 303 is perfect for detailed quieter sounds that needs a boost in presence.
CS-80 is juicy.
The rest are good but it’s really nice accessing so many different kinds of Filters.

It’s powerful, but the presets don’t reach out and smack you.
Mine do.
Same with Solaris when it first came out.
JBowen had the best presets, the other banks were kind of weak.
I immediately started using the power of audio feedback routing so the sounds were “big”...
It’s nice having quiet nifty presets to show capabilities and such.
But I want to punish my Bass players, guitarists and drummers.
I ain’t letting those guys bury me.
I need Fat Bastards.
