TC Electronics ends the support and kills his self and the users invested money into their stupid software dsp shit.

Same story like cakewalk but the tc dsp stuff wasn't cheap! Burn your money with tc.

Sonic core for president! Full support since 1998!

"The company was purchased by Music Group (parent company of Behringer) in August 2015."

Production ended 2011 and this year the support ends. This is the end station for this dsp cadaver. :(

Who is that hero who rescued the scope platform?

Yep ! Crazy ! :o It's really time S|C becomes back a normal company with at least 1 or 2 developers !

:D :D Buy a second Xite-1 ! :D :D

PlanetZ community must do all the best to help S|C to become more known !

But it's really unbelievable that we didn't know that ! I always thought that there were several people working at S|C ! Why doesn't Holger tell us more details about the "company" ? Can one talk about a company when there is only 1 person ? But + just another one for the support = Gary, in USA.

Oh ! But it still works even if TC cancelled powercore support ! :P

The powercore support has been cancelled since september but on 31 december, it will be impossible to buy, tranfer licences plugins. I have all the licences that interest me, anyway.

And yes ! The powercore virus is awesome !! :) I'm not sure it's a copy from Scope : there is no such synth on Scope but I read somewhere that since the Virus & the powercore have the same dsp's model, it was not a big work to develope the powercore virus plugin. It's one of my favorit synth and it works exactly like the hardware one : you can load all the virus presets you find on the 'access virus' web site.

agree, i have the virus powercore too and its wicked. very nice sound and its even more integrated than a ti as its totally inside the pc. the other plugs they offered are nice but nothing stands out like that virus imo

I would rather buy a used virus hardware with knobs and Midi and audio IO. In 40 years this synthesizer does not need any support. I could die and the virus still live happily. But the tc powercore always needs support to survive. In 40 years people will make exhibitions with vintage hardware, and the virus will be part of it while the tc powercore rests since 30 years in his grave because windows is also in heaven..... :D

I have a nice soundcard hercules 16 12 fw but since win XP was the last driver. It is lying in my cupboard, I think I through this nice hardware into garbage. I'm not amused.

true, but the entire card i got for like 70e a couple years back.... 70e for a pretty real-deal virus is a no brainer :)

I bought a Powercore for 39€ one night ...
(probably was a typo of a 139 figure, snatched it en passent) :D
It didn't get much use, but I liked the 1176, ClassicVerb and EQSat.
The Virus is a nice synth because it sounds so very different from Scope synths.
But one thing it does smarter: all controls have their CCs assigned and it never forgets them ;)

tbh I don't mind PCore support (never needed it anyway), but the Music Group takeover is a major annoyance for a confessing hater like me. TC made some really good stuff.

cheers, Tom

Happy to still have my hardware virus (KB), but I do believe there's plenty of alternatives at our present time, including a few native options.

We are VERY blessed to still have Scope and SonicCore, the playing field is getting very very narrow these days! And while I know XTC caters for some, the desktop version of scope has very very few counterparts anymore.

THAT! Complement each other very well! (scope color / tc virus color)
