so this was the wooden version, wonder what a metal version would sound like with some Autechre type song.

Absolutely excellent ! I imagine all calculations he had to make !
This is all I really love : a very complicated machine with completly useless purpose !
Some years ago, in a Champs-Élysées shoping galery, there was an enormous marble clock it was so complicated and big : it took 3 stages ! One could watch it working for hours. I don't find any picture...
