Hasn't really sunk in yet. Last Saturday Lemmy's funeral (another hero of mine) and now this. Huge influence on many.

Mid 70's to early '80's (10yo - 16yo) my life was tracked by Bowie. I took every opportunity at school and home to play often obscure Bowie material instead of whatever classical stuff I was meant to be playing/practicing.

Mr Bowie, and I'm so glad your music was there. Thankyou :)

I just got his latest release and it's brilliant.
Having listened to it more today I can see where his struggle with Cancer or his contemplation of facing death influenced his music.
Brilliant performer comfortable in his own skin.
Had the pleasure of seeing Serious Moonlight in '82 at his favorite 69th Street Theater in Philly.
He made everything around him better. What a great life he had.

sometimes at night I still seem to hear the sound of the Starman-riff coming from an AM-tube receiver
as if it was just yesterday...
ch, ch, ch, changed with Bowie - while he remained the one constant musical factor in my life

mr. Arkadin, is it somehow the 'original' picture you uploaded?
On the lp cover version the skin looks much more overexposed :)

It was the first "Heroes" one that popped up on my image search. As it has no text I assume it's original. I thing the 'overexposure' might be a 'touch up' before the days of Photoshop (hey we all can use a bit of help with those wrinkles).

Weird, literally as I clicked on your post and started reading the sound of Starman started on a TV in the other room, it was like I was living your post!
