Boys, my A16 U transformer died

Post by tlaskows »

Yep, measured the voltage and it's around 0.0000000V.

I threw out all my old transformers cause I didn't think anyone used AC anymore. Well, they were regulated, but I would just cut out the regulator. Time to look around Digikey and Newark :o

It is an Ultra. I found a nice 12V AC 2A on Newark for around 20 bucks. It will have to do. I used to build power supplies just for fun. That's not a bad price, considering a Hammond tube 400V transformer cost me around $100. :)

Speaking of PSU...
I got nervous since Solaris and XITE-1 are 6.5 years old.
Sent an email to GaryB who forwarded it to S|C who then would not take my money.
I will get spares as a gift..... :)

I guess those head jobs I gave everyone at NAMM really paid off.

Thanks everyone @ S|C.....

Ahh, crap. Newark wanted too much for shipping, so I got one from Digikey for 30 CAD shipped to my front door...

She's back in action guys. Just took less than 2 days to get the Ultra back up :)

If you're in the states or Canada, you know where to get your transformers - Digikey.
