as a new CW device I would like to see some sort of filterbank. We've got great synths and processors now, which seem to be of outsrtanding quality, but I would really like to see a seperate filterbank (like the Sherman maybe) to really mangle those sounds. There are really great filters in synths like the Pro One from zarg, and the CW minimax, maybe some of these algorythms could be combined and extended into a seperate filter unit, so you don't have to load a whole synth if you just need the filter (you can route external signals through the filters of the synhts I mentioned).
scarry...
yesterday i read an interview in futuremusic with a guy who used the mutolator. And i thought to myself wouldn`t it be great to have a filterbank like the mutolater or sherman in sfp.
OT: id be happy if creamware made something like the line6 products:
echo, mod, filter pro the guitar/bass amp simulators and their distortion stompbox.

I used to have a Sherman). I know 2 devices which act as Filterbanks:
SpaceF's Moonizer is very cool by idea, modulation possibilities and controls. Too bad it uses old filters, and I'd like to have a BPM divider instead of multiplier.
Moonizer comes in 2 versions, as insert and as standalone. The standalone has a 3rd input, which can be used as mod source. I've been told the Moonizer will need a complete redesign to be updated. I hope one day SpaceF finds the courage to redo it. Cos with the new filters it would be big class.
Neutron's Rhino is a combined filter/phaser. There's 3 mod sources: Follower, ADSR and (midi sync'ed) LFO. It has a 3rd input, (like Moonizer Standalone) which can be used to trigger the mod sources, just like the stereo input. It eats midi notes for mod triggering, if you want.
Rhino's not officially released, I estimate it'll be in the Neutron7 shop when Neutron has updated his pre-SFP devices. In it's current version, it can make some very raw, distinct sounds.

And of course this device has now been released as shareware ($20) by Stephen, so you really should check it out...On 2002-08-07 13:41, w_ellis wrote:
