I do see the A550EQ emulation on his site, but the API 560 has the 10 bands and the "Proportional Q".

Is DAS still making Scope plug ins(New ones)? Would be nice to have this puppy in the arsenal. The Waves version was nice, but Im sure a Scope done version would ooze better quality than the native version.

Just throwing it out there. Wishing and Wanting  The style of that eq and the frequencies chosen helped me acheive some good vocals. And also the old chart that was used to represent each frequency helped as well when it came to sculpting.

sure, i'm positive that the platform has other solutions that can do the same job, but it's always nice to have a device that's just the way you like to begin with.

just for the sake of saying it, the BEST vocal recording should come from a combination of a high quality converter and the proer choice of mic and pre. using an eq is really a poor substitute for mic and pre that sound good from the get-go.

Agreed.

But this was through an MBOX2 and a CAD Equitech 200 mic. LOL

They are still active in development, as they released an update to the C350 last month (C350L). You could always ask them if they would do an emulation of the 560 on commission but IMHO its not so much the choice of bands that gives DAS EQ's a great sound but their filter algorithms (ideal for shining up vocals recorded on less than pro gear / sample rates).
