Stereo channel with seperate faders for cahnnels.

Request a new device/modular module, and hope that some enterprising developer grants your wish!

Stereo channel with seperate faders for cahnnels.

Post by Music Manic »

Was wondering if it's possible to build a channel in a mixer which has a stereo input but a fader and pan to control each side of the signal.

I know it's possible to build with two mono channels but was wondering about the SFP architecture and if pan law is applied.

Would be nice to have it anyway.

Thanks

Something like this might be quite handy. Does it not already exist Music Manic?

It would be cool if it had say 2 or 3 fader modes (single stereo fader, dual mono faders, knobs?) & also had 2 or 3 pan modes such as single stereo balance controller (dB mode switchable) & dual mono pan controls.

Haven't seen it but Mehdi or Wolf should be capable.

Hello
The "dualizer" for stereo channels should be available at the end of the week.
It is a stereo insert with dual capacity inside (insert, gain, pan).

If you have blackbox, you should already find the "S2M" device which is also a dualizer for stereo channels, but made to remain small on screen. it should be in the mixers/SpaceF Mixers folders. Otherwise, it will be there for SpaceF mixers very soon.

The advantage is that the main stereo channel fader of the mixer can also be used as a "master" volume for both channels if desired (to "remote control" the relative gain of the dualized channels). So it avoids overwrowded surfaces and keep devices light as you don't need to have it pre-loaded inside the mixer.

All the best

Hello,
sorry it was not uploaded this week end, I forgot that the server closes every sunday (so i am obliged not to update the site on sundays).

Anyway, here is a dualizer. The dualizer A is very simple.
It has two main purposes:
- dualizing a stereo channel for different effects/Eqs on each side
- seperate the gain of each channel and control both of them with the final gain fader of the stereo channel.

To really transform your "stereo" stream into two mono, the pan must be set at extreme. The pan can also be used for pre effect panning when the dualizer output goes to a stereo effect.

Available for download from the FP and FB mixers user area.
Here shown with mono multi fx racks in each channel.

DSP/Phase fixed (forces loading on same dsp), preset list....

Well now we can load large synths to record into VDAT and master it's outputs in a large mixer after the fact.

Seems like my FP106B can now house 6 stereo sends in it's 6 mono channels, leaving the 10 stereo channels for drums and extras,....sweet !!

If you have SpaceF's brilliant and long list of mono FX, this is a super way of having the 3LFO pan the 2 channels where different FX await.

It is worthy of a short demo this weekend.

I put SSB Modulator in the left side, and Flu-Liq in the right and use a slow Sine wav LFO to modulate between the 2.

OMG the FAT BASTARDS can swim !!
