I absolutely despise built in FX on Native synths.
They take away the punch and compress everything into a neat little
pile of crap, at least to my ears.
So since we have great DSP FX, and Modular IV I choose to leave
Zebra 2 HZ (Diva FIlters) Dry and FAT, then add FX in real time
since I hate static sound.
Below is an example where the Chorus amount is dry, but then using Aftertouch
I can apply the effect at the end of Filter sweeps/swells on Zebra.
Much like the old Modulation Wheel adding Vibrato.
LFO rate controlled by a knob on the Physis K4.
Expression Pedal 7 controls the amount of Delay from Flexor Delay.

I like using aftertouch for vibrato... feels a lot more natural than using the mod wheel.

I have an expression pedal somewhere, I forgot what I used to use it for, lol.

Set a nice Chorus effect up, then also add aftertouch to the wet/dry amount.
Now when you use Aft for Vibrato you get a chorusing sound like an old Hammond B3.
Really stands out.
All the old synth tracks from the 80s like 1999, Don't Forget About Me (Breakfast Club Theme) has engineers dial in pitch shifting and chorus effects when they used their ModWheels.
It's why live it didn't stand out as much as the LPs and CDs.
