MIDI Controls Live

Post by dawman »

Here's a great new tool.
Use it as a static way to call up snapshots of zones/layers.
Assign a MIDI CC to any knob in hardware, then assign that number to
the Spliiter knobs and change your split point in realtime... :o
How about using a Ribbon Controller and then drag a split point where an
instrument can be brought in for a lick, let go of the Ribbon and snap back
to the original sound and split point....
Run as many as you need, just activate all of your zones on your controller and use
these to bring in and out sounds by various tricks, and 128 presets means some serious
chart for me.

Also woth mention for anyone stepping out of the bedroom, CC2x2 has presets and a new
GUI too...........

FWIW, I have my hardware synths and virtual synths, as well as my ASIO sampled instruments
all working well with these. Simply use these PRE-Seq. MIDI Dest........Kontakt will Love U 4 it.
Whoah....

Thats a great idea....
hardware just dont hold a candle when it comes to control of MIDI messages.

SpaceF will upload it soon to the Black Box II area I believe.
I am honored he took time for a customer during his work and recording projects.

Pardon an ignorant user who have been living under a rock the last five years - does this enable me to select presets in my Scope devices via program changes?

Here's 1 example.
I have a hardware controller with 17 buttons. Each button can send PrgCh messages.
It also has a global MIDI Channel, so whatever global MIDI channel ( 0-16) I select, the buttons will send PrChng messages on.
I use channel 15 for Prodyssey and Minimax. Channel 16 for an Analog SE-1X synth.
I also have blank presets where the Oscillator volumes are set to zero. This means I can have layers, or mute as both synths share the same channel.
With MIDI Splitter I can have presets stored where the SE-1X is bass synth ( lower octave) or lead synth ( upper ocatave) and the Prod/Mini can be transposed and stored as a left handed pad while playing lead, bass notes, etc.
These same tricks can be used in a Pre Seq.MIDI Destination to control Kontakt 4.2 using Instrument Banks.
In essence, my hardware controller buttons are storing an entire performance inside of a project.
Now add the Project Preset List device, which is a snapshot of all effects and levels of Scope, and you have 17 scenes on each bank, 4 banks of them, which totals 68.
An entire evenings worth of control.

ooops, it looks like the splitter version I uploaded previously did not have any parameters saved in the preset list.
It is all fixed now. Sorry for the confusion and unconvenience.
Download is updated at the above link.

This is an incredible devie Mehdi.
It stores the MIDI Channels, the assigned CC's for realtime extending of note ranges in the active Zone.

A Scope project with 6 x synths.
2 x Modular patches, Minimax, Prodyssey, Pro One and Profit 5.

Modular patch 1 + MIDI Channel 2
Modular patch 2 + MIDI Channel 3
Minimax MIDI Channel 4
Prodyssey MIDI Channel 5
Pro One MIDI Channel 6
Profit 5 MIDI Channel 7

Splitter 2 Live Edition preset 1 = Modular patch 1 ( CH2 ) for bass C1 - D#3
Prodyssey E3-C7

Splitters presets can layer 2 x synths with a single preset too.

You get 127 presets to assign left hand pads, and right hand leads,
left hand Bass and right handed Leads.
Even use a CC on the note assignment Knob and extend it's range in realtime.
Use a ribbon controller and drag it left or right to the point you wish to reach.

Perfect for the gigging Scope guys.....
